The Real Icelandic Catastrophe

So on April 3, 2010 I was forced to take in my black beauty, my Daytona 675, in for repairs. Apparently in a botched aftermarket modification, I had accidentally pressed a mounting bolt into the throttle body, causing her to run abnormally. "Sure no problem," says the Triumph service department at my local dealer, "we'll order up a new throttle positioning sensor and hopefully that will cure the ailment" (quotes not verbatim). Usually it takes about a week and a couple days to get parts in from ...

Azusa Canyon Road

Azusa: "A to Z in the USA". Nestled in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest, Highway 39, more commonly referred as Azusa Canyon, offers So Cal motorcyclists of all genres the opportunity to carve the canyons. Azusa Canyon is cruiser friendly. Highway 39 features wide sweepers and crests that casually follow the mountain side, and a perfectly distant straight away to open up the throttle. The unfortunate down side with Hwy 39 is that over the years more and more of it has been shut dow...

The only issue I have found with a majority of these sites is that they don't follow a uniform format, and they tend to get lazy and lose sight of the objective. Often these sites go unmaintained and half done. Well that is why I'm here. My objective with this sub-project is to bring you a complete lo-down on the many twisties that make Southern California one of the greatest...

The Side Car

As the name implies, the Side Car is the ultimate motorcyclists' cocktail. This was once one of the classic cocktails that has sadly fallen out of favor. The story behind it is that a WWII American Army Motorcyclist entered a french bar in the winter and asked for something to warm him up. The normal answer to this would have been a snifter of brandy or cognac, but due to the fact that this was prior to dinner, and back then straight alcohol was something to be consumed after dinner, the bartend...
