Beer Review #1- Newcastle Brown Ale

The true king of beers.

The true king of beers.

If the heavens rained beer, they would rain Newcastle Brown Ale. Hailing from the northern English city of Newcastle (if you couldn’t guess that from the name, you’ve already had too much), this middle weight brown brew packs the flavor and punch a real man wants from his beer. Now this isn’t your frat house, beer pong, “bitch-brew” like some of those lighter beers, this is something you drink with a solid meal after a good days work of slaughtering something. Honestly, aside from Guinness, the grand daddy of meals in a bottle, you will be hard pressed to find another beer with such a symphony of flavors and  sustenance packed into a 12 FL.Oz. bottle. With this stated, it can easily be said that Newcastle is the top rated beer for its class (English brown Ales), according to the trained experts from the Bren and Sven team.

Behold it's Awsomeness

Behold it's Awesomeness

Now this claim comes at no small cost, we have spent many hours in the BrenandSven lab (Bren’s girlfriend’s Dad’s man cave) tirelessly testing and retesting this beer with many of its competitors. We even managed to interview a real Jordie (the name given to someone who originates from Newcastle) and attempted to get into the mind of an individual that is part of the culture that brought the world Newcaslte! First, before bestowing this title upon the Newkie Brown we had to evaluate it’s competition. Chief among the competition is the brown anglo beast; Bass Ale. Now this fiesty, ancient brew ( I say ancient because it was originally brewed in 1777, only a year after the formation of my country) presented a good fight, but Newcastle’s overwhelmingly smooth, nutty, taste won the judges over. Don’t get us wrong, a good black and tan (Bass Ale with Guinness) is still worth selling your first born child for, but we are confident that in any situation, a man can’t go wrong with choosing a Newcastle. Also, you can now get the brown champion in a 5 liter drought mini-keg, which is great for those nights when you want a good beer, and don’t want to share (bottles have the unfortunate habit of being consumed by others, but a keg can be kept close and guarded!).

Because a bottle just can quench the thirst.

Because one bottle just can't quench the thirst.

Start drinking Micro Brews and New Castle will slowly fade to just another bottle :) I’ll take a dark beer any day.
