New for 2010: Suzuki

Back again to bring you our next piece in the New for 2010 series. We’re just about halfway through the journey. So what manufacturer are we learning about today, Sven? That’s an excellent question.

Suzuki: known for its phenom sportbikes the GSX-R trio, the 1000, 750, and 600 and the quarter mile king more commonly referred to as the Hayabusa. It is amazing to see a company that had a power hold on the textile  industry with its looms, re-invent itself to become one of the heavy hitters in the motorcycle world.

The big bad B-King

The big bad B-King

There isn’t much to go bonkers over with Suzuki’s 2010 debuts. 2009 saw the intro of the Busa’s naked variation dubbed the B-King. So I’d be hard pressed to see anything exciting come from Suzuki’s corner in 2010.

As of late, all we know from Suzuki is that the company has debuted two variations of it’s standard bike the Bandit 1250S. So here is where it gets a bit confusing, the Bandit 1250S already exists, but now their is the naked version of the bike named the Bandit 1250. Both are identical, minus a fairing and the naked Bandit has a Gladius-styled headlamp. The naked Bandit will also come with optional ABS. A word of caution to those who are looking to buy one; Suzuki is unsure if the Bandit 1250 will be in U.S. showrooms because of lackluster sales records for the naked genre, but that is not to say that it will not happen.

I actually wish this bike will make it to the U.S.

I'd love to see this bike make it to the U.S. market.

Now a bike that will make it to U.S showrooms is the third variation of the Bandit 1250S, the GSX1250FA. Again, this model is just like the Bandit 1250S, but this time with a full fairing and ABS comes as a standard. The GSX1250FA takes styling cues from the GSX-R series, with a similar front fairing and single unit headlamp. The sport/ standard mix will bring the look of a full fairing motorcycle with the riding comfort of a standard rider position. For Bren and Sven specs of the GSX1250FA click here.
