So I was looking through this month’s issue of Motorcyclist Magazine, and I came across this….

Yes, it is exactly what it looks like. Universal Designs Ltd. has created a fully functional, Batman motorcycle suit. This hardcore leather suit takes all the cues from the Dark Knight series, and is a spitting image of the suit Christan Bale dawns in the most recent release: The Dark Knight. All we can say here at the Bren and Sven laboratory is, Freakin Sweet!!!!

The suit is designed in a segmented armor fashion, allowing for great ease of movement. The body armor comes with dense leather and leather-like materials, and even incorporates Kevlar in the suit. All theses bits are not exactly Batman quality materials for whooping bad guys, but it ideal for the wannabe Batman on a motorcycle.

The suit comes with some added flair; and you can never have enough flair. The bladed fins found on Batman’s sleeves are the same on the replica suit. Practical, no. Badass, definitely. One piece of flair that is kinda over the top is the suit’s over masculine superhero cod piece. Yes, the suit dawns the “look at my overly large package” pod because as everyone knows, in superhero lore, he who has the biggest is the victor, or at least looks like he has the biggest. All in all, the cod piece probably doesn’t make a rider streamlined in the inseam, and I’m sure it can be a nuisance when laying on a fuel tank (and if your like me, you don’t need one).

So where can I get my hands on a suit? Well sorry to say, the suit has been sold out, but Batman boots and gloves are still available. If you can find a suit on eBay (and afford the price), more power to you, but Universal Designs Ltd. is one and done with this leather tribute to our batty comic legend.
