East Fork Road

So if you decide to take a ride up Azusa Canyon, you’ll notice that after about 10 miles, give or take a mile or two, you’ll come to a bridge that offers a chance to stray from Highway 39.

This alternate route is East Fork Road and it offers a nice combination of simple and tough. If you come in through the Azusa Canyon route, you’ll find the road offers a nice sweeping ride and eventually leads you through a backwoods town. Once you pass the Camp Bonita turn off, East Fork Road kicks things up a notch as you get into some technical twisties. The back side of East Fork Road is sportbike county.

The highlight of taking this route is that after the 10 mile run, you reach a fork in the road. A turn out offers a great place to take a breather and stretch, and to take in the amazing views. To the north, you get a pristine view of Mt. Baldy. To the south, the foothills that serve as a backdrop to the San Gabriel Valley. Now you’re finished with East Fork Road, what do you do? You could go back the way you came, or you can venture down the other two routes. Head east and you’ll eventually find yourself at Baldy Village. If you take the west option and you go down Glendora Mountain Road, a sportbike rider’s treat.
